About The Barn

The Meadowood Barn was built in the 1820's and is one of the oldest barns in Richland County. For over 150 years operated as a working farm.

In the 1970's it was purchased by the Bissman family of Mansfield and was completely redone for their daughter's wedding. The original framework was preserved while the rest was renovated into a beautiful event space. The grounds surrounding the barn were also improved with the addition of a grand stone fireplace and a stage for a band.

The Meadowood Barn sits in the middle of 50 acres secluded from the roadway and neighbors. The grounds are kept beautifully landscaped for outdoor weddings and photographs.

About The Owners

Cody and Sarah have always had the dream of owning an event venue. Cody grew up in Butler, Ohio. After college, he moved out to Denver, Colorado for an Engineering job. This is where Cody and Sarah met, fell in love and were married. Cody's job as an engineer moved them around the country and even overseas for a few years. Sarah has a background in event planning and is now the mother of two beautiful children. In summer 2017, Cody and Sarah decided to move back to Ohio to be close to family and Ohio's scenic countryside. After learning The Meadowood was for sale, they went to visit and realized it was the ideal setting for their venue. Cody and Sarah love the property, it's history and the opportunity to be part of peoples lives helping them to have the wedding or event they've always dreamed of. Cody and Sarah took ownership in late 2017 and have big plans for the future.
